  1. 7-segment LED displays are formed by LED segments.
  2. It is basically used to display numerical values.
  3. The LED 7 segment display is capable of multiplexing up to eight 7-segment displays.
Features:-
  1. Available in two modes Common Cathode (CC) and Common Anode (CA)
  2. Available in many different sizes.
  3. Available colors: White, Blue, Red, Yellow and Green (Red is commonly used)
  4. Low current operation
  5. Better, brighter and larger display than conventional LCD displays.
  6. Current consumption: 30mA / segment
  7. Peak current: 70mA
  8. 5V DC operating voltage.
  9. I/O pins are 5V and 3.3V compliant.
Applications:-
  1. Used in applications where font size is required to be bigger
  2. Microcontroller Independent, hence used in small circuit projects
  3. Used in combination with four segments to display measurement/sensor value with four characters
  4. Has bright illumination, hence used where display are required to work in low light or dark conditions.
